Dunraven Astronomy Club

The first meeting of the Dunraven School Astronomy Club will take place in Upper School LM18 on Thursday 18th 3:30 - 4:30pm. Interested students from all year groups are invited to attend.

Holocaust Memorial Day

National Holocaust Memorial Day is 27 January this year.  It was set up by the government as a special day to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust and Nazi persecution, and subsequent genocides that have taken place around the world since the end of the Second World War.
This year the theme is 'The Dignity of Difference,'  because at the heart of all genocides is the idea that some groups are inferior to others.  The day offers us opportunities to think about ways in which we value diversity within our society and how we can show this.
Both school libraries have displays of Holocaust books, including information books and novels.  Recent books which are particularly recommended are John Boyne's 'The boy in the striped pyjamas' and Morris Gleitzman's 'Once’.

Lambeth and Southwark are holding a joint "Dignity of Difference" from 6.00 - 8.30 on Thursday 25 January in the Assembly Hall of Lambeth town Hall. All Lambeth and Southwark residents are invited to come along and celebrate the dignity of difference in Lambeth and Southwark.
