Comic Relief Friday 16 March

Dunraven students exchanged one item of school uniform with a red item on "Red Nose Day" last Friday and made a donation to Comic Relief in exchange . Fund-raising activities around the school included home-made cake sales and the "Stars in their Eyes" event organised by Sixth Form student for students in Years 10 - 13. The music and dance acts ranged from the hugely popular Spice Girls to the ultra-cool boys from Take That. The large and enthusiastic audience did not always agree with the judges' decisions, but there was no dispute as to the success of the evening, which raised over £300 in aid of Comic Relief. Well done to all who took part, and particular thanks to the organisers and

Helpers and the "Stars" themselves. In Lower School, Tim Sluman and Jack Love (7A) spent Thursday evening at home baking and then ran a very successful cake sale during break and lunchtime on Friday.  The range on offer  included delicious flapjacks, fairy cakes, sticky chocolate cake and carrot cake. The boys raised a total of £51.75. Tutor group AF6 in the Sixth Form also organised a much appreciated cake sale for Years 12 and 13 which raised £45.00. Overall, Dunraven has donated around £800 to the Comic Relief fund.
